About Marcus Watkin

I am a full time power wheelchair user following a motorcycle crash in 2092 when I was hit head on by an 83 year old man who was driving on the wrong side of the road 🤨

The result was a spinal injury at C5(among many other life changing injuries. 12 months in hospital and a wheelchair as my mode of transport for the rest of my life .

This has not prevented me from engaging in the things i enjoy ,mainly shooting, fishing and helping the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity raise awareness of the great work they do, saving lives like mine.!

I am a volunteer with the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, I help in their Shrewsbury shop and do talks to groups such as The WI,U3A and Probus groups.

If you are a member of any type of group and are looking for a guest speaker, I would be happy to come along to talk about my experience following my catastrophic motorcycle crash, being air lifted to a trauma centre and my 12 months in hospital.
Then my role with the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity .

My journey with Marcus Watkin began in 2002, following a life-changing motorcycle accident that left me with a C5 spinal injury. Since then, I have been dedicated to providing wheelchair advice and striving to improve access in and around shops and streets in Shrewsbury. My personal experience as a wheelchair user has fueled my passion for accessibility and inclusivity, and it is my mission to provide unique and memorable experiences for all with limited mobility. Also to try and encourage disabled visitors to Shrewsbury

My Commitment to Accessibility

With a deep understanding of the challenges that wheelchair users face, I am committed to ensuring that the town of Shrewsbury should be wheelchair-accessible. I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to explore and enjoy the beauty of Shrewsbury, regardless of their mobility limitations.
